Silver Recovery:
When you add acids for base metals removing then silver also dissolve in acids. Now our silver is in filtered solution. For silver precipitation, you can use HCl (hydrochloric acid) or NaCl (Sodium Chloride). Add HCl or NaCl to the filtered solution until white clouds appearing. Leave for one or two hours and then filter it. You will see silver in white powder form called silver chloride. I store it to make a large batch but you can melt it instantly. Some impurity can be visible in silver and you can refine it to make pure 99.999.
Gold Recovery:
For gold recovery, make aqua regia for gold dissolving. Use 1:3 ratio of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid to make aqua regia. Aqua regia should be half an inch above from processors. Leave it for two hours for complete gold dissolving in aqua regia. After complete gold dissolving adds some drops of sulfuric acid to the solution. It will precipitate lead if it will in solution. After half an hour filter the solution and wash remaining ceramic processors with water.
Gold Precipitation and Melting Gold :
Add urea in royal water until reaction for neutralizing the nitric acid. When urea reaction will end then stir well solution. I use SMB(sodium metabisulfite) for gold precipitation. Dissolve SMB in water double quantity of gold acceptation. If your idea is 10-gram gold then you should use 20-gram SMB. Add SMB solution in gold solution. The color of the solution will change instantly in black color. Leave it over night.
Next day, Gold will be settled down in black powder form called gold dust. Filter the gold dust and wash well with water. Dry and burn filter paper with gold dust. Now you can melt this gold dust or repeat aqua regia procedure on it for purity. If you are new to gold melting then you should read my gold melting tutorial. Yes. Simply dip steel piece in solution for copper recovery.

hello there
I was processing ceramic cpus and at the first part of process, instead of hf i added hcl, so i dissolved all metals in a mixture of hno3 hcl and h2so4 of course by mistake! no the gold is dissolved in this mixture,
i added urea and tried to extract gold but when i add smb , smb react with something ells, can you help me?
check the gold in solition with stannous chloride test . if solution is clear then filter it and reuse aqua regia on residue! hope it will help, ( intelligent lets the follish work first) keep it in mind
