MONOLITHIC CERAMIC CAPACITORS:

Palladium recovery monolithic ceramic capacitors tutorial has three parts.

  • Palladium
  • Gold
  • Silver

Introduction:

You will see monolithic ceramic capacitors in every electronic item. It has some hidden metals but main metal is palladium in it. I used many methods of MLCC recycling. But I like this method. This method gives 98% recovery of all metals.

PART-1.

Palladium recovery monolithic ceramic capacitors:

First of all, we have two options. Remove base metals or not. I did not remove base metals in this video tutorial but I recommend to remove base metals first. Dip monolithic ceramic capacitors in HCl (hydrochloric acid). Use 1:5 ratio of HCl. If your monolithic ceramic capacitors are 1 kg then use 5 kg HCl and leave it for 24 hours. After 24 hours, washout with tap water. Leave it for dry.

Now, we have to burn monolithic ceramic capacitors. I used crucible and furnace but you can use a gas torch. Try to complete burn monolithic ceramic capacitors. After burning, monolithic ceramic capacitors will easily smash. Grind all burned monolithic ceramic capacitors. You can use ball mill or traditional hand grinder for this. Be sure, All ceramic part of monolithic ceramic capacitors become powder. Only side metal connectors should leave.
Now, we have to mix some chemicals in monolithic ceramic capacitors powder with this ratio. For example:

  •  MLCC powder =10 kg
  •  Borax =6 kg
  •  Soda (sodium carbonate) = 4kg
  •  Sodium nitrate = 250 gram
  •  Material (A) or Lead = 10 to 15 kg

If you are a newbie then please learn about GOLD RECOVERY CHEMICALS and GOLD RECOVERY EQUIPMENT first!

[Material (A) is the waste material of this procedure. You will know about this in the end]

Melting:

PART-2.

Mix all items completely. Now, you will need crucible to melt all this. For 10 kg monolithic ceramic capacitors, you will need about 100-pound capacity crucible. You will also need a good furnace with high temperature. Give heat until all metals melt completely and settled down. When you believe that all metals settle down then pour into mold hold and leave it to cool down. You can watch the video as a technical guide.

  1. hi. Can we use Bleach plus HCL instead of HN03 plus HCL? .the solution dissolves gold as well but not sure of any other intervention with other elements

  2. Hi Dear Umar.

can you plz tell more about the third furnace in recovering MLCC. you mentioned it was a POT but i cannot see any pot. is it placed underground and recieve heat from above or there is also fire under the pot????
by the way. i hv a large pile of MLCC and i’d like to extract. i need more of your help.how can i get in touch with you more. can you send an Email.?

  3. hi bro again,in the beginning thanks for your tutorials and I have question, after refining all metals(gold and ets..)how must doing with all extra acids?is these acids,no usable?please help me thanks again

  4. What is a palladium content (PPM) in high quality circuit boards?
How does it compare to amount of gold.
    Thanks,
    Les

  5. umar bhai .a.o.a ! i still have problem with mllcc recycling. please guide more , which ash is used in this process? wood ash? and no crucibles avail here, from where you buy crucibles. ! please reply . thanks alooooot
