If you are new to e-waste recycling and gold recovery then this page is for you. In this guide, I will tell you some basic things, formulas, and some tricks. The reason for this post is that many people could not understand some acid names, formulas, and other gold recovery chemicals. So, I thought about this and did it for those friends, who are new to our recycling family and want to learn about gold recovery and e-waste recycling.In this post, I will show you everything in details step by step. SMB as a gold recovery chemicals:

 Many people ask me about SMB. I thought I start from this. Full form of SMB is Sodium metabisulfite. It is also known as sodium pyrosulfite. Its chemical formula is  Na₂S₂O_5.Its color is white and in powder form. It is used for gold precipitation. There are many companies are manufacturing SMB but BASF company is best. I also use SMB made by this German company. Its result is hundred percent and clear. 1 kg jar can be expensive but if you purchase is 25 kg bag then it will be very cheap. When you open the bag then never leave it open. Fill all SMB powder in airtight jars or plastic bags. If you leave it open then it will not work properly.

HF as a gold recovery chemicals:

Full name of HF is hydrofluoric acid. Hydrofluoric acid is a solution of hydrogen fluoride (HF) in water. Its Other names are fluorhydric acid and Hydronium fluoride. It is most danger acid in the world. But in some method of gold recovery, it’s used. So if you are going to use it then be careful because it can harm you. Its price is high. I use its 25 kg cane. Never use this in any glassware because it will dissolve any type of glass. Use only in plastic ware.

What is DMG?

 Full name of DMG is dimethylglyoxime. Dimethylglyoxime is a chemical compound described by the formula CH₃C(NOH)C(NOH)CH₃. Its chemical formula is C₄H₈N₂O_{2. It is an off white fine powder but if you purchase low quality then it can be solids. Many companies are manufacturing DMG but I recommend you RDH or fluka. These companies have same quality and result. DMG use for palladium precipitation and palladium test in solution.}

What is BORAX?

Borax is also known as sodium borate, sodium tetraborate or disodium tetraborate.  Powdered borax is white, consisting of soft colorless crystals that dissolve easily in water. Its chemical formula is Na₂B₄O₇·10H₂O. Borax is also used in flux. It helps in gold smelting. Its melting point is 743 °C.
